BULALO (FILIPINO BEEF MARROW STEW)

Bulalo is one such favorite soup and the hotter it is the better. It is best complemented by the marrow that is tapped out of the bone. This delightful Beef soup is a specialty of the cattle-raising region in the province of Batangas.

If you want the best tasting Bulalo, try it in Batangas because that is where the Bulalo originated. It is one of the tastiest soups. The dish is composed of beef bones with the marrow still in it.

This dish comes from a country where the average temperature rarely falls below 80 degrees, making Bulalo a filling stew that’s deceptively light. Perfect, even in warmer weather.

Native to the Southern Luzon region of the Philippines, Bulalo is a light colored soup that’s made rich by cooking beef shanks and beef marrow bones for hours, until much of the collagen and fat has melted into the clear broth. The seasonings vary from chef to chef with some using only salt and black pepper while other variations call for patis, bay leaves or even garlic. But at its core, Bulalo a simple cattleman’s stew, best made in a large cauldron with whatever veggies are growing near by.

Bulalo is also a place
in Sulawesi Utara, Indonesia.

Mahogany Market located on Tagaytay Philippines is one of the best place to eat bulalo. But it doesn't matter where to eat bulalo, as long as you're in Tagaytay, it's going to definitely taste good. But the Mahogany Market is a suggested place since the prices are fairly less than Tagaytay's costly restaurants and dine-in places. And mahogany is also the place for "pasalubong" if you're in tagaytay.
